Your Year of Freedom

Turn to the ‘notes’ pages Imagine that you’re given the gift of taking a year off from work, from the day to day life you lead. You’re given one big cheque that covers your costs for a year. Money is now no concern. You are free to spend the year doing whatever you want, wherever you want, with whoever you want.

It starts in 3 months.

So what are you going to do with this coming year of freedom?

Now you might immediately think of lying on a beach and swinging in a hammock idly doing nothing. And that probably would be a good place to start. You probably DO need a good long holiday right now. But a year of that would most likely drive you crazy and feel like a waste of your free time.

  • So what would you fill your year with?

  • What places would you go and live in?

  • Would you stay where you are or would you go to different places?

  • If you divided up your year and did different things with those chunks of time, what would you do?

  • Would you go and learn to do something?

  • Try something new?

  • Would you have a go at a business idea you’ve had?

  • Would you spend some time doing something creative? Would you go on adventures?

  • Would you try things you wouldn’t normally have the time for?

Write it all out.

Now go back to the dream exercise in the journal and see where you can add in some of your answers to the questions above.
